Long-exposure image of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft docked docked to the Harmony modules forward port on the international space station (ISS) during the Boeing Crew Flight Test (Boe-CFT). This was the first crewed mission of the spacecraft, carrying NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams to the ISS. During the flight helium leaks were detected in the spacecrafts propulsion system and on the approach to the ISS its thrusters malfunctioned. However, Starliner was able to dock to the ISS successfully. After investigating the technical problems it was deemed unsafe for the astronauts to return to Earth on the capsule as planned. This turned what was meant to be an eight day mission for the two astronauts into a nine month mission, with the pair only returning to Earth on 18th March 2025. Photographed at night on 3rd July 2024.
